We believe it’s not enough to have a portfolio of environmentally advanced products. A sustainable company has to do much more. Our commitment to sustainability began more than 20 years ago when we were the first company to create community advisory panels for our manufacturing sites. Today, our sustainable practices remain an integral part of everything we do. For instance, we recently completed our first zero-discharge manufacturing plant in Chennai, India. As we continue to evolve and improve, Rohm and Haas will seek out ways to produce cost-effective solutions for customers, then speed market development to help protect our environment. 

Our Partnership with The Natural Step

Rohm and Haas practices the key principles for a sustainable society in partnership with The Natural Step, an international not-for-profit advisory, educational and research organization dedicated to sustainable development. As a leader in waterborne technologies our company also works in partnership with many co-suppliers and customers to meet and successfully bypass obstacles to sustainability, Rohm and Haas and The Natural Step International have designed a roadmap for our future operations. During the early part of 2008, we completed an inclusive, participatory process to develop a new corporate Vision and Six Commitments for sustainability with input from hundreds of employees.

Through our new Vision and Commitments for a sustainable Rohm and Haas, we will be: delivering a competitive edge, differentiating Rohm and Haas and our products/solutions, doing what customers and suppliers want and expect, and leading change toward a sustainable society.
