On July 10, 2008, Rohm and Haas Company announced that it has entered into an agreement with The Dow Chemical Company, under which Dow will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Rohm and Haas common stock. This transaction will build a global, world scale specialty materials company, and leverage the nearly 100 year tradition of Rohm and Haas Company’s innovation and technology leadership in the industry. With the addition of complementary Dow businesses into the portfolio, Rohm and Haas Company will continue to represent to the marketplace, the industry, and the communities where it has operated, the same traditions and values of safety, ethics, innovation and civic engagement.
