Human Rights Expectations
for Suppliers
Respect and Dignity
Suppliers will treat all employees with
respect and will not use corporal punishment,
violence or threats of violence or
other forms of physical coercion or
harassment.
Wages, Benefits and Working Hours
Rohm and Haas has the expectation that
its suppliers will, at a minimum, comply
with all applicable wage and hour laws
and regulations, including those relating
to minimum wages, overtime hours and
other legally required elements of
compensation and benefits.
Forced or Involuntary Labor
Rohm and Haas suppliers will not use
forced or involuntary labor of any
type (e.g., forced, bonded, indentured
or involuntary prison labor); employment
is voluntary and, subject to local
law and applicable contracts, is "at
will".
Child Labor
Rohm and Haas does not condone the use
of child labor. The term "child" refers
to any individual under the minimum
age for employment established by law
in the jurisdiction where the work
is performed.
Nondiscrimination
Suppliers will not discriminate in hiring
and employment practices on grounds
of race, religion, age, nationality,
social or ethnic origin, sexual orientation,
gender, gender identity or expression,
marital status, pregnancy, political
affiliation, disability, or other factors
as mandated by applicable law.
Freedom of Association
Suppliers shall respect the legal rights
of employees to join or to refrain
from joining worker and/or labor organizations.
Suppliers maintain the right to establish
favorable employment conditions and
to maintain effective employee communication
programs as a means of promoting positive
employee relations, as allowable by
local law or applicable contracts.
