Volunteerism
Rohm and Haas employees around the world give the company its generous human face through a variety of volunteer activities, determined by regional needs and cultures. Regardless of the program or the host country, activities share the same key to success: caring, committed and sincere employees who believe in giving back to their communities in each of our four regions: Asia-Pacific, European, Latin American and North American. |

Outreach activities in the Asia Pacific Region (APR) continue to evolve as the operating facilities become more established, and thereby more integrated with their host communities. Current volunteer programs closely align with community initiatives that have been supported through financial and materials donations by Rohm and Haas in a given operating community. Programs in this region are designed to support the company’s commitment to education, the environment and sustainability and also includes social events that promote health and well-being.

The European Region (ER) represents perhaps the company’s greatest number of countries across two continents, and therefore its most diverse range of cultures. Projects and programs related to sustainability, particularly environmental conservation, vocational training and other career preparedness and educational activities for youth, as well as social activities for fundraising, are the key focus of employee volunteer efforts.
In the Latin American Region (LAR), outreach activities target health and social services needs, especially for youth. Educational initiatives, particularly those that support vocational training as well as revitalizing the environment, are an important focus for the region.
In the North American Region (NAR), volunteer efforts have a strong educational and social focus to prepare today’s youth to become the next generation of scientists, business leaders and role models. Educational activities promote math, science, technology and career-preparedness. Social programs include mentoring relationships with youth of all ages, along with community service and fundraising projects that support a range of health and human services organizations. Volunteers also participate in environmental activities that promote youth awareness or that protect natural resources in their own communities.
