The United Way 
Rohm and Haas has a long tradition of supporting United Way chapters in its host communities. In most of those communities, the Company’s United Way gift is the single largest corporate contribution directed to health and human services programming and causes. Company gifts at each operating facility are based on the number of employees plus employee campaigns raise direct donations for the local United Way chapter. Annually, employees in the United States raise almost $1.5 million. The areas receiving the largest contribution are the United Way SEPA (South Eastern Pennsylvania) and the United Way Crusade of Mercy in Chicago.


United Way United Way Day of Caring
United Way local chapters’ Day of Caring and Month of Caring programs foster the spirit of volunteerism and encourage community action and engagement, and typically kick off the organization’s annual fundraising campaign. Rohm and Haas is one of thousands of participating companies that excuse employees from work to participate in a variety of scheduled volunteer-based activities with United Way member agencies. Opportunities consist of half-day, full-day and even family-based projects to show employees how their individual contributions are used, and to demonstrate how they can make a difference in the lives of others.

American Red Cross 
Funding to the American Red Cross supports Emergency Services, provides help and hope to families in need, and helps to prepare the region for disasters of all sizes. Contributions also help to provide CPR and first aid training to over 100,000 people. Contributions also assist Blood Support services to coordinate local blood collection used by national hospitals and medical centers.


American Cancer Society 
The American Cancer Society works to increase awareness, education, and services to underserved communities, specific to cancer education through online self-service information through a hotline (800 ACS-2345) and the Cancer Resource Network.



Woman's Way
Woman's Way provides critical services such as educational and career training, housing support, sexual and domestic violence crisis counseling, health care, legal assistance, and other social services. Outreach is achieved through educational forums so that community members can be educated on issues affecting women today.


Salvation Army (Louisville)- Kroc Center
A combination of funding from the Joan Kroc estate and corporate contributions from companies like Rohm and Haas are helping to construct a new state-of-the-art community center in the Rubbertown section of Louisville, KY. The Center of Hope will help homeless families build independent and productive lives. Other funding will improve six boys and girls clubs in the area and provide literacy programs and year round use of Camp Paradise Valley, which offers summer programs for inner-city children and year-round training.


Habitat for Humanity International

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is an international organization that builds simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter. Since 1976, the organization has built more than 150,000 houses in more than 89 countries, including some 50,000 houses across the United States. Rohm and Haas has supported many Habitat for Humanity construction projects by providing financial contributions, in-kind products and hundreds of skilled employee volunteers. In 2005, Rohm and Haas began providing Signature Sponsorship for single family homes in our operating communities. Many customers also donated building materials for the development of these Innovations Homes that brought together company technology, expertise and commitment to community. For each home, more than 350 employee volunteers invested over 1,000 hours of sweat equity to build the home.

 



Eisenhower Fellowships 
Fellows forge meaningful and enduring partnerships among emerging leaders representing NGOs, the private sector and local and regional governments. The program provides tailored two-month fellowships in the U.S. each Spring form 25 emerging leaders from 25 counties.

World Affairs Council 
World Affairs Council provides educational enrichment for 2000 students through their Global Leadership Program launched in 1949. Their programs supplement social studies curriculums and helps students develop critical thinking, problems solving, and leadership skills. Primary participation is within economically disadvantaged schools.
