An outstanding resource for the converting and flexible packaging industry has opened its doors at a brand new location in Bremen, strategically located for close collaboration with customers as well as professional synergy with the best and the brightest in German flexible packaging. The state-of-the-art Rohm and Haas Technical Service Center in the new Businesspark Hansalinie on Johann-von-Bodeck-Strasse in Bremen welcomed visitors at an open house from March 20-22, highlighting the customer-focused expertise, experience, and equipment of this global leader in flexible packaging adhesives.

“The services we provide to customers touch on just about every area of product development, use, and performance,” says Hans-Günter Schetschok, technical service manager for Northern and Central Europe, Rohm and Haas. “Everything we do here is driven by the needs of our customers – customers who are very knowledgeable, sophisticated professionals constantly looking for innovations in product performance and improvements in operational efficiencies. We look forward to continuing to meet their needs at our new location, drawing on our highly experienced and extremely talented technical staff and our state-ofthe- art equipment.”

Specifically, customers using the facility’s services are able to take advantage of:
• Testing and trialing of adhesives for substrate combinations,
• Extensive testing and analysis of physical and chemical properties of finished packages,
• Expert advice on the operation of lamination machinery for maximum operating efficiencies.
Other services are also available as customers require.

Customers benefit from continuous product innovations
Rohm and Haas has a well-deserved reputation in the flexible packaging market for its innovative approach to product development, creating opportunities for customers to differentiate their offerings and improve their bottom line. In fact, it was Rohm and Haas that introduced ELM (extremely low monomer) and – just last year – acrylic water-based adhesives to the market, both based on environmentally friendly technologies that offer greater supply chain flexibility and address a host of EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) issues. The company is currently using its strong R&D capabilities to develop adhesives suitable for more complex tasks, including medium and high performance applications.

“The Bremen Technical Service Center is a tremendous technical resource for our customers in the converting and flexible packaging industry,” says Werner Fraenzel Read, Commercial Manager, Rohm and Haas. “We have in one central location decades of experience, unrivaled technical expertise, and a vision for the almost limitless possibilities of this market. It’s a very exciting time.”
