Fukushima Lagoon is selected as one of the "Top 100 Nature spots in Japan" and "Top 100 Beauty Spots in Niigata."

Communication with Local Communities
Communication with Local CommunitiesAs part of our social contribution activities in Japan, we continuously conduct community dialogue via open houses, fire-fighting drills and study with the residents and community authorities both at the Soma Plant and the Sasakami Plant on a regular basis. These are important opportunities for communication, where topics such as our manufacturing process, issues concerning environmental safety, and procedures for response in an emergency are discussed. Through these activities, we try to improve our communication with local residents and authorities concerned so that they can come to understand our company and our attitude towards to safety and the community more deeply.

Exchange with Educational Institutions
Plant tours and familiarization trainings are available at the Soma Plant so that students can deepen their understanding of chemistry and our factory’s activities. In addition, we conduct a class "Super Science High School" as a member of the managing and training committee for education focused on science and mathematics, which is promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and Fukushima Prefecture.

Promotion of Social Welfare Activities
As part of social welfare activities, we donated items to Yu-u-ki No Sato Workshop, a sheltered workshop for physically disabled people, operated by Agakita Sogo Fukushi Kyokai (Agata General Welfare Association), a social welfare corporation in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture where the Sasakami Factory is located. These items include about one year's worth of threads for Promotion of Social Welfare Activities use in manufacturing cotton work gloves and socks within the workshop, and two sets of event tents that are utilized to participate in a variety of events held in the local community. By periodical purchasing cotton work gloves manufactured in the workshop, etc., we will continuously promote these activities so as to remain supportive of the future development of the worship.

At the Soma plant, we also offer a location for blood donation for the neighborhood, several times a year in cooperation with blood donation promotions run by the government. Our employees also give blood for this donation and contribute to blood product stable supply to the medical services.

Also our Soma plant conducts neighborhood clean ups several times a year. Through these activities, we will continue to contribute to the local communities as a responsible corporate duty.
