Rohm and Haas has been at the forefront of developments of the use of functional polymers since the first ion exchange resins were invented in 1935.  The close  involvement with the Pharmaceutical Industry goes back to the 1940's when some of the first products, "Amberlite IR1" were used to recover Pencillin.  Rohm and Haas also has DMF No.1 registered with the US FDA.

 

Advanced Biosciences - Advanced Biosciences is a new business dedicated to providing products and processes to enhance synthesis and purification of biopharmaceuticals. Biopharmaceuticals are drugs manufactured using fermentation, cell culture, or novel synthetic processes to produce antibiotics, proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides.
This newly created business includes some of the best known Rohm and Haas products such as Amberchrom™ chromatographic media, Amberlite™ ion exchange resins, and Amberlite™ XAD™ adsorbents.

 

Healthcare - comprises of the Formulation and Medical applications of functional polymers and focuses on the targeted delivery of active drug substances (Advanced Release Technologies).   

 

Our dedicated business groups are keen to help companies explore new ideas and ways in which functional polymers can be used within this dynamic and rapidly changing industry.  Reducing the "Time-to-market" is a key concern of our R&D and Technical support people as are the Quality requirements of working in this demanding market.
