Poster Contest Winner: 8th Grade
Having a Ball with Chemistry
Lexi

LEXI
6th Grade, FL

Lexi says she has a ball playing softball….
…when I run the bases.  I feel the rush of my blood when I’m racing toward “home”.  It makes me even happier when I make a home run!

Atomic Number 13 helps softball as Dr. Mario describes:
There is no other sound in sport as recognizable as the "ping" from a wellDr. Mariostruck pitch using a double walled aluminum bat.  Aluminum (atomic number 13) is a remarkable element.  It is the most abundant metal in the earth's crust and structural components made from aluminum are used in many industries, including aerospace and transportation.  It forms a strong yet lightweight alloy, which allows the softball player to swing with exceptional power.

What You've Won:
For being selected as the winner for her grade, Lexi wins a $400 voucher for a mountain bike!

Your school won, too!
