Having a Ball with Chemistry

VALENTINO
5th Grade, PA

About soccer, Valentino says…
…I have to concentrate on the ball, run fast, and kick it.  I also need to show team cooperation.  I also need to share the ball, and believe in yourself.

Dr. Mario agrees with all of your points, Valentino.  Dr. Mario
There’s a reason why...
“Soccer balls are typically made up of a synthetic leather surface with an internal bladder (latex or butyl rubber) to hold the air.  Practice or non-professional soccer balls are made from polyvinyl chloride.  And professional soccer balls are hand sewn by expert craftsmen using polyester thread. These materials make the balls move fast while taking a beating.”
