About This Site
National Chemistry Week is a community-based annual event sponsored by the American Chemical Society (ACS) that unites ACS local sections, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to the quality of life.
During National Chemistry Week, Rohm and Haas is working to demystify the chemistry that’s inside of some of the country’s favorite sports such as basketball, tennis, hockey and snow boarding.
The ACS theme for National Chemistry Week 2008 is “Having a Ball with Chemistry,” and each aspect of our campaign involves sports.
The campaign began with a poster contest for kids and includes several activities and events, in partnership with The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, to help promote the value of chemistry.
Rohm and Haas is pleased to collaborate with The Franklin Institute during National Chemistry Week.
